Description: A large black coloured cast iron kettle with an arched handle over the top. The kettle was always full of hot water on the wood stove so a cup of tea could be made. The kitchen sounded empty if the kettle was not ‘singing’. The kettle was originally included in Mrs Calthorpes’ trousseau.
